The Great Garbonzos are pleased to announce their 14th Reunion show! The Great Garbonzos are saddened to announce their 15th Farewell Performance! Every 4 or 5 years or so we get the band back together. Jason Moon, Jason Lipsky, Mike "Geppy" Gephart, and Dean Tassone reunite FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY at The Jockey Club in Oshkosh, WI. This was Jason Moon's college band!

Featuring Sly Joe and The Smooth Operators from 2-3pm, Jason Moon and Friends from 3:15-4:15pm, and The Gin and Sonics from 4:30-6:00pm. Jason Moon is a storyteller. His songs and performances make you feel like you are with a trusted friend reminiscing about the good old days. He invites you in, sits you down and makes you want to listen. Jason Moon is funny and wise, thoughtful, and poetic, urgent, and often heartbreaking. His gravelly voice is balanced by a unique flat picking guitar style evoking blues, folk, and Americana genres. A winner of several awards and honors, Jason has been recognized for both his songwriting skills as well as his engaging performances. An evening with Jason Moon is always engaging and entertaining.

Jason Moon is also a veteran of the Iraq War, and the founder of the non-profit Warrior Songs, which brings healing to military veterans with PTSD through music and the creative arts. Based in Chandler, AZ, his folk/Americana musical style has been compared to the likes of: John Prine, Jim Croce, and Greg Brown.

War, Music, and Healing – Talk and Performance

Award Winning author and Vietnam Veteran Doug Bradley will lead the audience on a 40-50 minute exploration of music and the Vietnam war based on his book We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War, named the best music book of 2015 by Rolling Stone magazine. Attendees will learn about the vets' stories behind the iconic music they listened to during, and after, the Vietnam War, with opportunities for questions before the break. Following Doug’s presentation, Award Winning songwriter and Iraq War Veteran Jason Moon will perform a one hour concert. Jason will use story and song to explore the way he uses music to help veterans recover from War Trauma. Sharing songs off of his ground-breaking “Trying to Find My Way Home” CD, as well as songs written in collaboration with other veterans, Jason leads the audience through the experience of veterans coming home from war. Q&A with Jason. And Doug too.

Together, Doug and Jason provide audience members with unique insights about music and war, as well as an understanding of how music can be used to help heal the wounds of war. Jason will provide copies of the CDs produced by Warrior Songs free of charge to veterans in attendance. Doug's books and other CDs will be available for purchase.
